RNID (formerly Action on Hearing Loss) is to partner with leading supplier of assistive hearing technology Connevans Limited to supply products to our supporters and audiences.
Products are now available via a new dedicated online shop at www.RNIDconnevans.co.uk
The comprehensive range includes alarms, alerts, phones, TV and assistive listening devices. There is also a section called ‘My Hearing Aid’ where you can search for your specific make and model of hearing aid and find the accessories that are compatible with them.
As well as regularly updating on new products, Connevans is also committed to working with the charity and its supporters to identify product needs among deaf and hearing loss communities that are not being met and help bring them to market.
Why form an assistive hearing products partnership?
RNID Executive Director of funding, brand and communications, Tim Willett said: “When we made the difficult decision to close our products business earlier this year, we knew it would leave a gap in the services we offer to our beneficiaries. This partnership with Connevans allows us to signpost people looking for equipment for use in the home, in their place of work and in social care settings. We will also work with Connevans to identify additional equipment solutions and trends and help bring them to market.”
“It was important for us to partner with an organisation with a strong reputation in supplying hearing loss equipment, plus excellent levels of customer service and support, and Connevans is the right partner for this. We are also delighted that the charity will receive a contribution for every order placed, which we will reinvest in delivering services and support to those with deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus,” he added.
Connevans is the right partner
Connevans managing director, David Evans said: “In 1969 it was the technical department at RNID which helped and encouraged my father to develop an auditory trainer for use in schools for deaf children. If it were not for RNID, Connevans would probably not be in the assistive products space that it is today.
“The opportunity to work with RNID to supply products for their supporters is an exciting new phase for Connevans. It sees us going full circle with our joint relationship and will give us both many areas to work together moving forward. Our partnership will help Connevans maintain our unique position and ensure we are able to continue to support deaf people across the UK.”
